House: There are four metropolitan cities in India consists of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Apart from four metropolitan cities, there are few other big cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. To purchase a two bedroom apartment in metropolitan cities cost an individual around $200,000 to $250,000 based on the area and location. In other big cities, two bedroom apartments can cost around $100,000 – $200,000 based on the location and area. Renting a same house in metro city costs around $400 – $1000 and in other big cities it costs around $200 – $500.

Food: Probably, the important factor of surviving in any city of any country is a food. Let us look at what it needs to buy a food and survive in the big Indian cities. For a family of four people, it requires around $200 – $300 to buy a food for the month either in a metropolitan city or in other big cities. It almost requires the same cost in both part of India. Even if you look for an extravagant food, it does not cost you more than $500 for four people.

Transport: A transportation cost in India is not much high as well as not so cheap too. If an individual travels with the public transport buses or railways in few cities, it costs them around $20/month overhaul. But, if an individual travels through their own vehicle, it depends on the kind of vehicle they drive. There are two types of vehicles, two wheelers (or bikes) and four-wheelers (cars). Based on the kind of private transportation, it costs around $30 – $100/month.

Education: Probably, India is very cheap when it comes to the primary and secondary education. There are very low fees for the students and the cost of the books are not much high. An education for a single child does not cost more than $100/month. For a higher education, it costs you around $150/month if an individual is studying in the private school. Government funded schools are quite cheap and the cost is very low. The cost of the education contains the total cost of school fees, books and all the other requirement of a school.

Entertainment: There are very good resources of entertainment in India that includes cinema, theaters, amusement park and many more. The entertainment cost is not much high and it can be enjoyed easily.
